Welcome back to the 2024 academic year at Bellfield College. We trust this message finds you in good health and high spirits.
Please be advised that the Sentral portal is currently experiencing technical difficulties, and we are actively working with Sentral, our external system provider, to resolve the issue promptly. We assure you that we will keep you updated on the progress.
For your convenience, you will find the student stationery list for the upcoming academic year under the respective school headings.
As soon as the portal is fixed, we will promptly send our parent Term 1 update, ensuring you stay informed about the activities planned for the coming term.
We are excited about the prospects of the new academic year and look forward to creating wonderful learning experiences together. Thank you for being an essential part of the Bellfield College community.
During times of great difficulty a difference is made through the power of actions. At Bellfield College we effectively dealt with the challenges that arose during the COVID 19 lockdown by responding with targeted strategies that answered to both the short term and long term concerns of our students and their families.
Moving Online
The biggest structural change that the College implemented-
like the majority of schools in Australia- was moving online. Bellfield College,
however, wanted a digital learning strategy that would also serve it for the
long term and so adopted the Canvas software, an online learning management
system (LMS) that gives schools the ability to effectively organise and deliver
their lessons. Canvas is the chosen LMS for many universities and thus gives
our students an advantage by enabling them to engage with software they may
need to use should they choose to pursue tertiary education.
To help our students and families with the technicalities of digital learning, ITC support was also offered via our multiple communicative platforms such as ClassDojo, WhatsApp correspondence, and Zoom meetings with school teachers and IT personnel.
Integrated Illuminations Program
As previously mentioned the Illuminations Program at Bellfield College is the way we deliver Islamic Studies. During lockdown we had to ensure that students would be getting the Islamic education they need while also transferring the spiritual experience they enjoyed at school, such as the Congregational Prayer and daily Duas, into their homes.
We did this by creating an ‘Integrated Illuminations Program’. This program involved short videos that encouraged our students and families to continue the school Illuminations traditions by offering simple tips to recreate that experience at home. For example, one video guided parents on ways to implement the Morning Dua Routine that students are accustomed to every day before they start their classes.
Financial Support
Both management and staff teams at Bellfield College
understood that providing support during lockdown meant that some aspect of this
had to be financial. The College assisted families during Covid 19 by freezing
tuition fees, waiving all bus fees, and waiving tuition fees for those in very
difficult financial circumstances.
