The Primary Curriculum

In the Primary Years, Bellfield aims to provide each student with the skills needed for effective, life long learning. Considerable thought, planning and evaluation has been invested to achieve this through a well defined curriculum.

While not precluding change, care is taken that change does not occur for change's sake. There are key processes and content areas that remain permanently valuable, although the way of presenting them can, and sometimes must, be adapted. We live in a rapidly changing technological society and learning also involves using means not available to previous generations.

Ongoing assessment provides educators with the data needed to ensure that students are equipped to proceed to the next level of education. Careful attention is given to each student to ensure that they are presented with a range of teaching techniques that suit their style of learning. This will be further enhanced with the Personal Mentoring Program which aims to develp a personalised system of education for to meet the needs of each child.
